DRNI, together with the Alzheimer Society of Ireland, are delighted to announce that our event The Science of Dementia for the Non-Scientist is now open for registration!

Taking place Thursday, 12 September in the LexIcon, Dunleary, Co. Dublin, this is a one-day in-person event to build the understanding of the science behind dementia to the non-scientist, and will see presentations on dementia and the brain, risk factors, brain health, and information on the recent treatment developments.

DRNI are thrilled to continue our Hot Topics in Dementia Research webinar series with Economics of Dementia and Brain Health.

Taking place Thursday, 25 May at 12.00, this webinar will focus on health economics and dementia, with Dominic Trépel delving into the economics of dementia and brain health. He will be followed by PhD students Daniel Araya and Men Hoang who will discuss specific aspects of health economics in relation to dementia.

The 31st Annual Conference of Alzheimer Europe  #31AEC, will be held as a virtual conference, under the banner “Resilience in dementia: Moving beyond the COVID-19 pandemic” (29 November - 1 December 2021).

Alzheimer Europe is calling for abstracts for oral, quick oral and poster presentations on the following subjects (deadline 30th June):

Tea-Time with Lewy

Dementia Research Network Ireland & The National Dementia Office will be hosting a a joint Policy & Practice forum as part of Engaging Dementia's 13th Annual International Conference.

The title of the forum is Gender and Dementia Care; Aspects in Family Caring and it will take place on 6th October 3.30-5pm. See programme attached. 

Hot Topics In dementia Research

Dementia Research Network Ireland are hosting free monthly webinars on hot topics in dementia research. These webinars will provide an opportunity to hear from those working in basic science, clinical and social research as well as from people living with dementia and their families. Each one-hour webinar will include a Q&A with the audience.

Target Audience: Researchers, clinicians, health & social care practitioners, the public including people living with dementia/ neurodegeneration and their families.
