DRNI ECR Day 2025 took place at the Centre for Public Health, Royal Victoria Hospital, Queen's University Belfast on 4th March 2025. Over 50 attendees took part in the event which saw 37 Early Career Researcher presentations and posters, and an expert panel discussion on academic publishing.
DRNI wish to thank everyone who made the event possible - the judges and the PPI representative judges, and of course the ECRs who travelled from all corners of the island of Ireland to take part!
We are very grateful to the Alzheimer Society of Ireland and Neuroscience Ireland for offering bursaries in support of Early Career Researchers travelling to the ECR Day, and to Dementia Trials Ireland who supplied three prizes on the day in the form of travel bursaries for use throughout the year.
Congratulations to the winners of the three categories:
Best PPI Involvement: Aoife Hunter, Ulster University
Best Overall Poster: Anupa Paulose, University College Dublin
Best Overall Presentation (three-party tie): Brenda AU, University College Cork; Anneliese Walsh, Trinity College Dublin; Shane Gordon, Ulster University.
DRNI wish to thank the team at QUB for their fantastic welcome - it was wonderful to be able to have the event take place for the first time in Belfast!
