I am an Assistant Professor and licensed Clinical Neuropsychologist in the Department of Neurology at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine, Comprehensive Center for Brain Health. My research focuses on cognitive aging and dementia, with particular emphasis on identifying risk and resilience factors that shape variability in brain health. I am currently developing and validating DNA methylation (epigenetic) biomarkers of cognitive aging to better understand how genetic, lifestyle, and psychosocial factors interact to influence vulnerability and resilience to Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias.
I completed my PhD in Clinical and Health Psychology (Neuropsychology track) at the University of Florida, followed by a predoctoral internship and postdoctoral fellowship in Clinical Neuropsychology at Alpert Medical School of Brown University, where I also served as the Aging and Dementia Research Fellow in the Memory Disorders Clinic. Prior to this, I earned an MSc in Human Cognitive Neuropsychology at the University of Edinburgh and a BA in Sociology and Psychology at University College Cork, Ireland, where I am originally from.
