Dr. Aisling Flynn is a Lecturer in Occupational Therapy at Bournemouth University, UK. She completed her PhD at the University of Galway, where she developed a multi-user virtual reality space to support social connection for people living with dementia. With a clinical background in Occupational Therapy, she has worked in innovative memory support services, including assistive technology prescription.
Aisling’s research is grounded in person-centered, participatory approaches, involving people with dementia and their support networks in the co-design of digital and social technologies. Her current work explores the relationship between dementia, housing and aging in place, aiming to create inclusive environments that support the quality of life of people living with dementia.
