  • Digital health interventions have the potential to improve the accessibility and effectiveness of palliative care. This is particularly relevant for people living with dementia where there is high psychosocial and spiritual symptom burden from early in the disease, and where non-pharmacological treatments like music, reminiscence, and life story therapies have a growing evidence base. This project focuses on innovative digital tools to assess symptoms where a person may struggle with self-report (wearables, facial emotion recognition and conversational agents/voice analysis). It will pilot co-created, psychosocial interventions, delivered digitally in the person’s own home, including music, virtual reality and reminiscence, for feasibility, acceptability and trends in outcomes. It will provide tailored and interactive advanced care planning information to promote the person reflecting on their priorities and wishes, thereby maximising the value of conversations with clinicians about their care, support and self-management.
