Purpose: To provide a structured approach to meeting the needs of the person with behaviours which staff may find challenging.

Learning Outcomes: At the end of this course, the participants will be able to:

1) Discuss the concept of behaviours that challenge, and subsequently:

2) Develop a structured approach to manage such behaviours.

3) Relate how the social psychology of the care environment impacts on the quality of life of the person with dementia.
