DSIDC Education Programme 2020 - Foundations in Dementia Care - September 9th, 2020.

Purpose: To provide basic knowledge and understanding of dementia and to facilitate the development of skills in a person-centred philosophy of care. The workshop is aimed at health care staff with no prior dementia training.
Learning Outcomes: At the end of this course the participants will be able to:
1) List the main types of dementia and describe their general characteristics.
2) Describe and discuss the implications of a person-centred philosophy of care.
3) Understand the importance of life story work and activity-focused care.
